STM32CubeProgrammer Context¶
Purpose and scope¶
The STM32CubeProgrammer Context programs internal and external nonvolatile
memory (NVM), erases memory, reads memory, and programs option bytes on
connected STM32 devices through an MCP service. It is delivered in the
cube-agentic-ai-programmer bundle.
Device scope: All STM32 MCUs are supported. STM32 MPUs are not covered by this release.
Assets and capabilities¶
The connector includes its MCP server and declares the programmer Cube
tool bundle as a dependency. Cube installs that dependency automatically.
Connector bundles are available for 64-bit Windows and Linux, and for Intel
and Apple silicon Macs. See the
STM32CubeProgrammer product page.
The context can perform operations that change device state. The AI Coding Agent must identify the target and confirm the intended operation before erasing memory or programming option bytes. Review the impact of option-byte changes before programming them.
Cube commands¶
The programmer dependency provides the STM32CubeProgrammer CLI. The AI
agent invokes the connector’s MCP service for internal and external NVM
programming, memory erase and read, and option-byte programming.
Troubleshooting¶
If an operation fails, confirm the selected target and connection, then inspect the MCP result. For agent-host or server-startup checks, see FAQ and troubleshooting.
Typical prompts¶
Program this firmware image to the connected STM32 device and verify it.Read the requested memory range from the connected STM32 device.Erase the selected STM32 device after confirming the target.Read the current option bytes, explain the requested changes, and program them after confirmation.
