STM32CubeProgrammer documentation

Welcome to the documentation portal for STM32CubeProgrammer.

This document covers the STM32CubeProgrammer tool only.

To determine which STM32 series and interfaces (JTAG/SWD, UART, USB, SPI, and others) are supported by STM32CubeProgrammer, refer to the AN2606 STM32 microcontroller system memory boot mode.

Introduction

STM32CubeProgrammer is a software tool designed for STM32 products. It is currently available as a standalone application and offers several important features, including:

  • Device programming: Program STM32 microcontrollers and microprocessors via multiple interfaces (JTAG/SWD, UART, USB, SPI, I2C, etc.).

  • Memory management: Read, write, erase internal and external memories (Flash, RAM, OTP, option bytes, external Flash when supported).

  • Option bytes configuration: Configure protection and boot-related settings (read-out protection, write protection, boot address, etc.).

  • Secure programming support: Handle secure services when supported by the target (TrustZone-enabled devices, secure firmware install, etc.).

  • Multi-interface connection: Connect through ST-LINK probes, integrated bootloaders (UART/USB), or other supported interfaces.

  • Scripting & automation (CLI): Use command-line interface to automate programming, testing, and production flows.

  • GUI monitoring & logs: Visualize operations, statuses, error messages, and logs through an intuitive graphical interface.

  • Device information & diagnostics: Read device ID, revision, memory map, and basic diagnostics information.

Note

STM32CubeProgrammer supports a wide range of STM32 devices and interfaces. Supported devices, bootloader interfaces, and features may vary depending on the STM32 series and the tool version. Please refer to the STM32CubeProgrammer page and release notes on st.com for the detailed list of supported products and functionalities.
